Critical Thinking Position Paper A position paper presents an arguable opinion about LGBTQ and same sex marriage . The goal of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion is valid and worth listening to. Your job is to take one side of an argument and persuade your audience that you have well-founded knowledge of the topic being presented. It is important to support your argument with evidence to ensure the validity of your claims, as well as to SUBSTANTIVELY address the counterclaims to show that you are well informed about both sides
Maximum 2 pages in length (does not include the work cited page, double spaced, 11 pt. (I prefer arial or non-serif fonts) * Your written report in Word will be graded carefully for the requirements outlined as well as quality of content, grammar, format, style, clarity, proofreading and editing. * In-text citations and MLA or APA standards, work cited page. * Research- Do your research on the major claims on both sides of your issue. Fact check. Find answers to the questions you listed in your Critical Thinking Article Analysis and report your findings. * Present your case – argue your case intellectually. You may not use loaded or slanted language. Do not use logical fallacies in your writing. Back up your views with evidence from your research, NOT your feelings. * Refute the opposing side – Take at least two of the major claims of the opposing side and refute them intellectually.
