The Impact of Drugs on the Human Body: Risks, Changes, and Consequences

My question was how do drugs impact your body if you take them a lot. According to research, drugs can lead you into taking part in risky behaviours such as drink driving or unprotected sex and changes in behaviour such as mood swings or increased aggression toward others. They can also lead to cognitive and memory problems. Finally, they can have impacts on sleep and can cause insomnia (Better Health). Something interesting I learned from this class is that the prohibition of alcohol lead to job losses and economic instability. The peer that had a similar question as me is Raniah Yaqoob. Her question was what are the long-term effects of specific substances on the brain, the human body as a whole and how do these effects contribute to addiction? It’s interesting how we came up with a similar question because my question was how drugs affect your body and she wrote the same thing.
