Introduction
As defined by Buchari 2017, noise pollution is “unwanted noise that could give negative effects to a person both physically and psychologically”. The main types being internal noise pollution (inside environments) and external noise pollution (outside environments). These negative effects may alter a student’s ability to focus, think and perform in school. Students will determine how different levels of noise pollution effects their problem-solving skills.
Materials
Decibel Meter (https://www.checkhearing.org/soundmeter.php)
Timer
Pen, Pencil
4 Multiplication Tests
2 internal locations
2 external locations
Methods and Procedures
Students will first measure the decibel level of the location using the online sound meter provided. They will write this decibel reading for this particular location. Next students will start their timers and get prepared for the test. Students will start the time and begin filling out the multiplication quiz. Once finished they will stop the timer and record the time for that test. Now students will move to the next location and repeat the same steps. Once all 4 locations are done, students will return to the classroom to go over their test and record the scores for their multiplication tests. Data
Decibel Level
Time to Complete Test
Multiplication Test Score
Observations
Note all senses for each environment and explain if they impacted your overall results
Lab Report
Students will turn in a 250 word abstract. Buchari, Nazaruddin Matondang; The impact of noise level on students’ learning performance at state elementary school in Medan. AIP Conf. Proc. 15 June 2017; 1855 (1): 040002. https://doi.org/10.1063/1.4985498
Please do the test from the link and write the paper according to data comes out from test
