I need a response to this discussion post: I was driven to further my career

I need a response to this discussion post:

I was driven to further my career out of frustration. I felt that my RN license limited me in providing utmost care to my clients. I felt as an NP, I could take things a step further and better help my clients. I was also frustrated over the shortage of primary care providers, especially for homebound clients. Access to care for this population is scarce at best. I chose to pursue the Adult-gerontology nurse practitioner specialty. I am not particularly interested in serving the pediatric population. The focus of my career has been the geriatric population. I contemplated nursing education and administration as well and ended up choosing the NP.

It was, and is, very difficult to stay committed due to the overwhelming clinical hour requirement. I am wondering how I can work full-time, care for my family and complete the required hours. My end goal, however, is to work as a Nurse Practitioner providing telehealth calls or home visits to my selected population. I am currently serving as Clinical Manager for a Home Health Agency and may switch to MSN in administration. The beauty of Nursing is that there are so many different avenues that one can take. Even the administration program, although much less, has a clinical requirement.

I was a member of the AANP and have now started to renew my membership. This organization provides networking, information and even discounts on various services.

During the pandemic, Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice was extended due to the mass burden on the healthcare system. One study found, “NP full scope of practice improves access and quality of care and leads to better patient outcomes. It also has the potential to reduce health care cost.”
