In this module, we have studied several religious buildings and
several spaces that have a strong spiritual character. Research and
study a building, that has not been discussed in this class, that, in
your opinion, has a strong spiritual component and explain, in detail,
which elements of the building provide this quality.
This selection should not simply be based on program (In other words,
do not simply select a building because it is a church, temple, or
mosque.), but rather on its architectural characteristics: the form and
feel of the spaces, the quality of the light, the materials used, or
whatever, in your opinion, determines this characteristic.
Include images of the building (at least three), and at least one
plan, and highlight these characteristics the best you can. Be as
detailed as you can be.
As with all essays at the Academy of Art University, it is expected
that detailed thought and craft will be given to the presentation of
this assignment.
Include sources for the information you have collected.
