Report/Poster Formatting Checklist
A poster is for seeing, not studying. Do not prepare a poster as a one page report. It is for visual communication and you are there to explain and give the details. Do not stuff it with text. It should communicate very concisely and effectively.
Here is a checklist:
Layout
Student name
Student number
Title
Date
Proper type setting (not use multiple fonts, varying paragraph spaces, forget to justify…)
Figures
Figure numbers
Figure captions
Graphs
Axes on graphs should have labels
Axes on graphs should have units
Use appropriate scale to avoid too much whitespace
Series should be distinguishable from one another
Data should be presented appropriately (right type of chart: scatter, bar, pie…
Tables

Table captions
Column headings
Units
Proper precision of numbers
Equations
Number the equations
Define nomenclature
Data Presentation
Give units with numbers
