As discussed in class, adequate preparation for a successful career in public health, health
promotion, health education, etc. requires mastery of several different knowledge bases and
skills sets, as well as the ability to convey such knowledge and skills in an effective manner.
Imagine that you have been shortlisted for your very first high-profile position in health
promotion/public health. You have been given an opportunity to give a brief yet convincing
“elevator pitch” in which you have to effectively “sell yourself” as the ideal candidate for the
position. In other words, you must precisely explain why the interview panel should hire you
over all other potential candidates. Indicate your professional philosophy of health
education/promotion, strengths, and assets.
Write a One-page brief (12-point font, Times New Roman) that incorporates the above
elements.
