To assist you in undertaking the assignment, I have posted below a “Sample Research and Critical Review Exercise” paper submitted by a student enrolled in this unit previously. This sample paper provides one good example of how to approach the assignment. A feature of this sample paper is that the student has outlined the relevant economic theory/models so that there is a solid benchmark against which to assess the newspaper article the student is commenting upon. I emphasise this example is just one way of undertaking the assignment. Other students have obtained even higher marks with different approaches, but a common feature of all high scoring assignments is that they comply with the instructions in the Unit Outline.
In case it assists you with the assignment, here is the Marking Criteria for Research and Review Exercise that the markers of the assignment will use.
