and quantitative data is made available so that hospitals can make targeted interventions for

continuous improvement. The increase in efficiency, productivity and ease of use brought by the

digitization of the nurse informatics system will eventually lead to increase in patient satisfaction

levels, and instances of positive patient outcome (Crabtree et al., 2016)

The Nurse Informaticist plays a crucial role in the success of the project as a link between

different stakeholders to bridge business requirements and technical feasibility, as a guide and

representative of nurses – the key stakeholder impacted by this system.
