Your Task
This Assessment Task focusses on the analysis of a Contemporary Case Study. There are two
components to this activity:
1. Develop a draft framework (plan) as a group in-class activity in preparation for the individual
written report
2. Use that framework (plan) to create an individual report that provides a detailed analysis of a
Case Study. The Case Study and questions will be made available via MyKBS (Turnitin) in
Week 4.
This Assessment will focus on the Nature and Importance of Leadership, Leadership Skills
Development and the Characteristics and Traits of Leaders
Assessment Description
PART A (In-Class Group Activity)
In Week 6 the in-class activities will explore the issues in the Case Study especially in relation
to leadership. Students will work within a group to share ideas, discuss the Case Study and
arrange how to develop a report framework using a mind-map or similar tool (that is approved
by your facilitator) to assist in the preparation of an individual report
Attendance is compulsory for this in-class part of the assessment.
Each student will submit a copy of their individual framework (developed as part of the inclass group activities) attached to the individual report (as a single document) via MyKBS
(Turnitin).

leadership, leadership skills development and the characteristics and traits of leaders. You
will be provided the Case Study by Week 4. By thoroughly reviewing the Case Study and its
key themes, students will analyse the Case Study and respond to the two (2) questions
provided. Students will also be provided with a structure for the individual report.
Students will need to refer to at three (3) theories and include a minimum of four (4) academic
references.
Please refer to the Assessment Marking Guide to assist you in addressing the assessment criteria.
