Oftentimes, this results in vulnerability and potential victimization of the individual. In fact, research indicates that “individuals with developmental disabilities are between four and 10 times more at risk of being a victim of crime (Sobsey, et. al., 1995; found in Allely, et. al., p.50). For this Discussion, you will examine two case studies—one about autism spectrum disorder and the other about intellectual and developmental disability (IDD). You will then analyze the forensic psychology implications of these neurodevelopmental disorders and consider how this information may inform your decision-making as a forensic psychology professional.
