ASSIGNMENT COVER SHEET

Follow these procedures: If requested by your instructor, please include an assignment cover sheet. This will become the first page of your assignment. In addition, your assignment header should include your last name, first initial, course code, dash, and assignment number. This should be left justified, with the page number right justified. For example:

Save a copy of your assignments: You may need to re-submit an assignment at your instructor’s request. Make sure you save your files in accessible location.

Academic integrity: All work submitted in each course must be your own original work. This includes all assignments, exams, term papers, and other projects required by your instructor. Knowingly submitting another person’s work as your own, without properly citing the source of the work, is considered plagiarism. This will result in an unsatisfactory grade for the work submitted or for the entire course. It may also result in academic dismissal from the University.

Cynthia:

In week four we there were two learning outcomes, they are: (01) Conduct effective organized searches for relevant research literature and (02) Incorporate relevant information from appropriate peer-reviewed studies in a systematic manner. It is with these two objectives in mind that our assignment for this week was to create a comprehensive concise outline for your literature review. Writing a thorough, detailed, and information rich outline is one of the steps taken when utilizing an organized and methodical approach to writing a content rich scholarly document such as a literature review.

At a minimum, the requirements for this outline included the following:

(a) at least two to four pages in length

(b) more than top headings – it should have sub-headings and detailed information showing an expansion of core ideas, thoughts, and concepts (details!!).

(c) the ideas, thoughts, and concepts should be supported with citings showing where the supporting information for each of the line items will be drawn and substantiated.

It is critical that the outline should provide enough detail so that someone who is reading your outline may easily discern the overall ideas that your paper will present and how the literature supports and relates to your ideas.

Finally, this work should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights directly related to the final writing of your literature review. Additionally, it should be apparent in the outline how one idea/concept will build and add value to the overall theme or idea of the paper. There should be evidence of a strong line of thought or logic and the reason for each natural progression should be evident and present. Please always proofread for typos and for APA

This outline is a good preliminary outline that I am sure as you progress in your work will grow and mature. The work that is present in this outline is well supported and I see the potential for a great literature review utilizing this preliminary outline.

One of the strengths of creating a strong outline is that it helps one to recognize quickly where additional research should be completed to strengthen the thoughts, arguments, and information given in your paper so that your work is strong and rich in both depth and breadth. Please make sure to keep the resources from this week to bring forward with you when you leave this class because I promise you that you will want to return to them to aid you with writing your final dissertational literature review.
