Browser attacks are very common and are likely to succeed against systems that have not been hardened against them specifically. Some of the more commonly used browsers, such as Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, now include at least a rudimentary form of protection against such attacks. In order to mitigate attacks additional layers of security are required.
