Commenting on the topic, hypothesis and PICO question
by asking two questions and with another research article related to the chosen

We decided to look at the previously incarcerated men of San
Bernardino. We narrowed this down through discussion to men ages 20-40,
diagnosed with any mental illness, in San Bernardino County because we have
more access to that population. This population has long been neglected and
recidivism rates have been looked at, but there has not been a solid response
in this population that would end the problem. Several factors contribute to
this and through research and investigation, there will eventually be a solution.
We hope to start the conversation and hopefully find some resolutions. 
PICOT:
·         Population
(P): Men ages 20-40 years old in San Bernardino County with a history of mental
illness and incarceration.
·         Intervention
(I): Mental health treatment received during incarceration.
·         Comparison
(C): No mental health treatment received during incarceration.
·         Outcome
(O): Reincarceration within 3 months.
·         Time
(T): Within 3 months after release from incarceration.
Our Question: “What percentage of men ages 20-40 years
old in San Bernardino County with a history of mental illness and incarceration
who received mental health treatment during incarceration were reincarcerated
within 3 months compared to those who did not receive mental health treatment
during incarceration?”
Our Hypothesis: We believe that evidence will show that men
ages 20-40 years old in San Bernardino County with a history of mental illness
and incarceration that receive mental health treatment while in jail will have
a lower reincarceration rate over 3 months compared to those that do not
receive mental health treatment while incarcerated.
