At a minimum, complete the following areas in LinkedIn.
Edit the Intro section, where you can
· include a professional headline,
· add a professional photo
· and list contact information.
Add profile sections for your
· background
· work experience
· education
· licenses & certificates
· and skills.
Also consider looking at My Network, located at the top of the web page, to
· look for coworkers, fellow students, or alumni to connect with
· and solicit recommendations and endorsements from people you have studied or worked closely with.
Finally, read the privacy policy and user agreement if you have any concerns about how LinkedIn will be using your data.
1. Create or update an existing LinkedIn profile that could become your basis for networking, sharing your professional skills as well as goals and career objectives. If you are unable or unwilling to create a profile in this professional social media platform, you can create a faux LinkedIn profile in a Word document and share it with me.
2. Create a branding statement, which should be to the point, focused, and interesting! These tasks are intended for your reflection on where you are now, at the start of your program, so that you can use this knowledge to inform your actions to address any gaps in skills or experience or connections
