Critical Essay: Due on May 6 [See attached example.]
An essay of 1,500 to 2,000 words in which the student of world literature helps us understand the human condition as viewed through one or more works of world literature.

This is a tripartite essay, an essay of three parts.
Requirements:
MLA format: MLA header and title for the essay. The title will take this form:
Literary artist’s name in possessive case and the title of the literary work followed by a colon and the angle of the essay. Here is an example:
Fyodor Dostoevsky’s The House of the Dead: A Study in Human Brutality
Part I: Life of the Literary Artist (300-500 words) [Biography of Literary Artist ]
Part II: The Work (500-750 words) [Analysis of the literary work. What is the central message?]
Part III: The Theme and the Significance (300-500 words) [Importance of the work. What makes the work significant in a study of world literature?]
