Continuous Assessment / Written Assignment
Each student will design, deliver and critically reflect on a teaching session within their respective learning/clinical environment.
The topic and time length of the teaching session must be agreed with your personal Tutor.
You will be expected to develop a lesson plan which must be structured and constructed using appropriate professional teaching lesson planning conventions.
The lesson plan should form part of the appendices.
The critical reflection component should utilise a reflective/reflexive approach. This could incorporate a specific framework/model of reflection.
This will include a detailed rationale of why you choose the specific teaching & learning strategies, theoretical approaches and assessment methods, plus critical reflection of the session.
Example of an assignment structure:
Introduction
Set the scene – the main evolving themes to expect – reflective approach to be taken
Description of learning/clinical environment / Identify student/s or client/s needs / Rationale for topic of teaching session
Main Body
Educational policy could be inserted within this section. Education needs identified
Description, discussion, and critique on the design of teaching session, including discussion and critique of learning theory and student/client assessment structures
Evaluation of the delivered session
A critical reflective approach utilized throughout assignment and/or in the evaluation of the session
