Each student will pick a specific critical infrastructure sector and will discuss how it impacts our national security. Key emphasis should be placed on cybercrime and how the sector is vulnerable to cyber attacks. The successful research paper will have original ideas and concepts supported by empirical research. Do not be afraid to explore controversial areas and ideas; just be able to support them. The research project is designed to make the student critically think in regards to their topic area and not just provide a historical perspective. It is recommended the student provide a history and overview of the critical infrastructure sector to begin the paper, then discuss the national security and cybercrime threats to sector, followed by an analysis of the sector and how improvements can be made to improve the sector and protect the sector from different threats, including cybercrime.
Research Paper Requirements:
Each student will be required to write and submit a research paper using APA format.
Topic must have the cybercrime aspect of a critical infrastructure sector as a key component
Topic must be approved.
Paper must be 6-10 pages in length (double spaced, apa format, not including title, abstract, and references).
At least 10 references must be utilized (apa format)
Paper must have a title page (not included in page count)
Paper must have an abstract (not included in page count)
Paper must have a reference page (not included in page count)
