Evaluation: Write a
professional, formal letter response to one of the following scenarios. Be sure
to address the concerns and come to a resolution. While reality may force a
nurse to chart a patient’s exact words, for this assignment, please omit
profanity. (You will be able to use this business letter format to apply to
jobs after graduation!)

Scenarios:
·
Patient is upset because
they have been pressing their call light for help to the bathroom for 45
minutes and they have now been incontinent in the bed.
·
Family member is upset
because they feel that their loved one’s pain has not been sufficiently
addressed and they believe that it is because of their race, disability, sexual
identity, language barrier, etc.(pick just one).
·
A letter arrives from a
patient who is upset about the care they received from “several healthcare
providers” while in the hospital and you as the nurse director must write a
response.
·
A patient leaves a
message saying they are reviewing their father’s recent discharge papers and
there is information on them that does not appear to be his. They are worried
that he received the wrong treatment while in the hospital.
·       If you have had a difficult conversation or communication
in a professional setting, you may use that experience to create the letter.
This could be an opportunity to reflect on how the communication occurred and
whether it could have been conducted differently for a better outcome OR what
was said and done that was successful.
