For this assignment, you must write about a study that has applied a specific Positive Psychology Intervention (PPI) to a group of participants and used an associated measurement scale to assess the effectiveness of the intervention. You can choose to write-up the study in one of the following formats.
Either 1) As an APA style research report (2750 words) Or
- As an academic poster (2250 words) Both formats will need to include an Abstract, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion and References section.
Guidance about how to present each of these for both formats will be provided on the ‘My Assessment’ page on iLearn.
For this task, you will be provided with results from a fictional study in which 19 undergraduate student participants engaged in a gratitude intervention and completed The Gratitude Questionnaire (CQ-6; McCullough, Emmons, & Tsang, 2002) before (pre) and after (post) the intervention.
Using these details, you also need to: 1) Choose the specific intervention programme and/or activity that was used for the study. This needs to be an evidence-based one that has published studies about it.
- Perform descriptive statistics and a significance test on the data provided and present the results.
- Add extra context to the participant group to explore additional individual, situational or cultural aspects (optional).
By completing this assessment, you will have shown and be assessed on all four of the learning outcomes:
