Instructions
There are a variety of communication tools used in the sports industry. For this assignment, students will create a SWOT analysis which analyzes the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with each sport communication item listed below. First, you will select a sport organization (league, association, etc.) or team (professional, semi-professional, and college)and research how they utilize the following sport communication tools and technology. Develop a chart with three columns. Please review the attached Good Example. While it may not be copied, I urge you to use it as a guideline.
The first column should include these topics. Include specificity regarding how your organization uses each:
Television
Radio
Online/Internet
Print
Social Media
Wireless/Mobile
The second column will include a description of each of those areas. Define what these communication tools are and explain how they are used by the sport organization or team you selected.
The third column will include your analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to each of those areas. Place each of the four categories as shown below as sub headers in the third column as they apply to each communication tool:
