The Trauma Recovery Program at the VA Medical Center aims to address PTSD through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy(SFBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy(ART), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing(EMDR). THEORY OF THE PROBLEM
PTSD affects many veterans who encounter traumatic events while in service, whether combat or otherwise in instances such as military sexual trauma. These traumatic events while in service can lead to PTSD symptoms like hyper-vigilance, nightmares, anxiety, depression, and intrusive thoughts to name a few.
THEORY OF CHANGE
One of the many goals of the Trauma Recovery Program(TRP) is that it aims to identify and challenge patterns of negative thoughts and behaviors through different forms of treatment. TRP focuses on identifying problems and building solutions to enhance overall health.
ACTIVITIES
A therapist collaboratively works with an individual to help identify problematic thoughts and behaviors and challenge them by developing an adaptive coping strategy

Cognitive restructuring techniques may be used to examine irrational and distorted thoughts and replace them with realistic thoughts. Cognitive Processing Therapy, the sue of scaling questions, miracle questions, etc. Main therapy to consist of EMDR, ART,SFBT,CBT.
