Need a creative non fiction essay following this idea, that i have writen so far. Feel free to change anything already writen. Needs 3 sources about the topic. Mainly this is creative writing about happiness and the way people view it through their life experiences.

Happiness is said to be, in psychology, a state of emotional well-being that a person experiences either in a narrow sense, when good things happen in a specific moment, or more broadly, as a positive evaluation of one’s life and accomplishments overall.  The saying of “The Pursuit of Happiness,” feels too complicated. In a society that tells us the pursuit of material wealth, social status, and external validation is what gives us happiness. We are bombarded with messages that equate happiness with consumerism, success, and the accumulation of possessions, it feels like society as skewed its meaning. This limiting definition of happiness feels like a never-ending cycle of discontent and striving for something unattainable as we pursue imaginary signs of achievement to find satisfaction. The constant search for approval from others can make it difficult for us to enjoy the small pleasures in life and weaken the relationships we have with one another and ourselves. This emphasis on external measures of happiness can perpetuate inequality and social injustice this reliance on external measurements of happiness has been shown to perpetuate social injustice and inequality. It also overlooks the multifaceted nature of the human experience, not acknowledging that happiness is a highly subjective and individual to each person rather than a societal idea.

What about Tibetan monks who have completely thrown away these societal concepts and are seen as some of the happiest people in the world. To them happiness is inner peace. What are we supposed to pursue? Happiness often feels like a one or the other situation to me.

Growing up as a kid, I constantly heard do what makes you happy. I feel like that’s what most parents tell their kids when they are little. Now that we grow older, it seems we are told this a lot less. We are told to go to college, get that job, and buy that house.
