The topic of interest related to the best nursing practice in my clinical setting is antibiotic stewardship. Antimicrobial resistance is a problem that has continued to grow and, therefore, a global public health threat (Charani, E., & Holmes, 2019). One of the qualitative articles addressing this area of interest is an article that focused on the facilitators and barriers to the antimicrobial stewardship program uptake (Jeffs et al.,2020). This study aimed to examine the perceptions of primary care prescribers of the usefulness, feasibility, and experiences connected with implementing a community-focused antimicrobial stewardship program. The research question which guided this study was, what is the perception of primary care prescribers on the usefulness, feasibility, and experiences related to the implementation of a community-focused antimicrobial stewardship program?
The target population was the primary care providers and prescribers, including nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and family physicians. The methodology followed a qualitative study design involving qualitative interviews implemented within three primary care family health teams. The participants were asked key questions related to antibiotic stewardship. The analysis of the data revealed important results. As shown from the interviews, facilitators of the antimicrobial stewardship program include the creation of awareness regarding the program, accessing reminders, resources, and information, having relevant and flexible learning strategies, and being engaged with local champions (Jeffs et al.,2020). Barriers were found to be pressure to prescribe antimicrobials, exposure to situational factors that impact prescribing decisions, experiencing diagnostic uncertainty, and time pressures.
One of the study’s limitations is that this was a short-term study carried out in a big urban center, and participation was voluntary, which could have led to a less diverse spectrum of providers. The study concludes that the barriers, such as time constraints, should be addressed to improve the effectiveness of antimicrobial stewardship (Jeffs et al.,2020). The study is significant to nursing since it shows nurses some of the barriers to overcome for effective stewardship and infection control

Assignment Description
The next step in building a case for change is to find a number of additional, related articles to support your proposed change to patient care. You plan to do this by searching for additional evidence in the medical literature databases, but you know that you will have to search through a number of articles to find what you are looking for.
The information that you find will guide the development of your presentation to staff or patients, and you should provide rationale for doing things differently to enhance patient care.
You know that your supervisor does not have time to complete an in-depth review of each supporting article. Therefore, you plan to e-mail your supervisor an annotated bibliography of the evidence that supports your request for change.
Using the databases below, find 3 additional scholarly articles that support your request for change (This brings the total to 5, including the prior article from the Unit 2 Discussion Board and the article from the Unit 3 Discussion Board).
Write an annotated bibliography for each of the 5 identified studies.
Address the following:
Conduct a search that is related to your previously-identified clinical question or nursing problem. Conduct the search within the following primary data sources:
MEDLINE/PubMed/OVID
CINAHL
Scholarly Search Engine
List the search terms that you used.
For each article summary (you will do this for all 5 articles), address all of the following:
Identify the purpose of the study, and include the research question.
Determine whether it was qualitative or quantitative research. Explain how you arrived at this decision.
Describe the population studies.
Describe the methods that you used to collect data.
What was done to establish reliability and validity in this study?
What were the major findings?
What were the conclusions?
What were the study limitations?
Include a correctly formatted APA title page and reference page.
The submission should be 3–5 pages, excluding the title and reference pages.
