Innovations continue to drive different aspects of healthcare, from technology to products, designs and service delivery systems. Innovations in health care technology are vast and increasing to help providers expand patient reach and access to services (Saghafian et al., 2021) Innovative service delivery systems like electronic medical records (EMRs) allow providers and patients to access digital version of health information and data and make decision.
The EMRs is used in the facility to document patients within the system, requiring proficiency in learning data systems and deploying creativity and innovation in care planning based on policy aspects like the Healthy People 2020 framework. The organization’s EMRs system expedites care management through a collaborative approach with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that the system flows smoothly in transition of care from in patient to outpatient settings. EMRs also allow the providers to develop plans through engagement of patients to offer their preferences and needs. The EMRs as a digital version of the patient charts is used in the organization to enhance efficiency and workflow as well as help providers deliver quality care to patients with diverse conditions (Uslu et al., 2021). The use of EMRs in the facility is premised on the need to improve the quality of care, support patients and improve overall levels of satisfaction among patients and their families.

Innovative service delivery systems are used in facilities to allow patients and providers share information and develop care plans that integrate different aspects of patient’s preferences and needs.
