1. Which weekly objectives do you have prior knowledge of and to what extent?
I have some exposure to the emerging roles of Advanced Registered Nursing Specialties. I have some background in Informatics. I am aware of the topic on scope of practice. I also feel that I have been exposed to diversity perspectives of care. I have used EBP with patient care and have been introduced to theory-based nursing practices as well. I think my career field will greatly benefit from the knowledge of Theory Based practice I and II. I have been exposed to be will also benefit from the Research process for Advanced Registered Nurses. Building this area of my education will allow me to build a solid foundation.
2. Which weekly objectives do you have no prior knowledge of?
I could benefit from the global perspective topic. I am looking forward to more insight on the Role Development of Advanced Registered Nurses. I will appreciate any information on the impact of current legislation and what influences it has on the profession.

What questions or concerns do you have about this course? I cannot think of any yet, but I know that I will have plenty of questions. I am excited for all the new knowledge and am eager to get started.

Diversity and Global Perspective Care (Topic 3): I work at a hospital with a remarkably diverse population working there and we see patients not only from the Unites States but also from around the world. We receive yearly education, receive weekly updates and other resources pertaining to some of these topics.
Role of Research and Research Process for Advanced Registered Nurses (Topic 6) and Evidence-Based Practice Initiatives (Topic 7): I am familiar with research and evidence-based practice as this was part of my education to obtain a bachelor’s degree in nursing several years ago. At our hospital, we also work with Nurse Education Specialists (NES) and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS)
that are Advanced Practice Registered Nurses. The CNS and NES support us nurses by providing their expertise by researching and educating us on updated evidence-based practices to
continue to provide optimal patient care.

I am not familiar with Emerging Roles for Advanced Registered Nurse Specialties (Topic 1), Theory Based Nursing Practice (Topic 5) and Role Development for Advanced Registered Nurses.
What course-related topics would you like to discuss with your instructor and classmates? What questions or concerns do you have about this course? I would like to discuss more on Theory Based Nursing practice, research, and evidence-based practice. This is an interest for me as my co-workers and I are initiating an evidence-based research project. My only concern is that I am feeling a little nervous to start this journey again after several years since I graduated with my BSN. I will try my best.
