Option 1: Evaluate Community  Resources  You will locate TWO community resources

Option 1: Evaluate Community  Resources
You will locate TWO community resources for a chosen stressor and arrange a time to either visit the location or interview someone who works within one of the settings. Prepare a 3-5 page paper that defines the family situation that would necessitate these resources and how a family might apply these resources to their stressor issues. Please include discussion of the Contextual Family Stress Model and other applicable theories.
**Please remember that you MUST discuss key concepts theories, and topics from the course. This is a discussion that should demonstrate understanding and ability to disseminate your knowledge into practical life application.
OPTION 2: Create Online Content
This can be a video (less than 3 minutes), infographic, or another type of content that introduces TWO community resources to families you may serve. You will apply theories and concepts discussed up to this point in the course to elevate social awareness on the key concepts of this course. The content will be created as if it will be shared online and, as such, must be presentable for thousands of people to see. Your presentation must include a brief written statement that defines the family situation that would necessitate these resources and how a family might apply these resources to their stressor issues.
Grading for FINAL PROJECT:
Vignette (20 pts): All submissions for the Final Project must include a brief written statement that defines the family situation that would necessitate the resources that have been selected to highlight. For OPTION 1, the written paper, the family vignette can be part of the 3-5 page completed paper. For OPTION 2, the written statement will be a 1-2 paragraph attachment to the project that is submitted.
Project (30 points): Depending on which option you choose, your project (written, graphic, etc.) must include the following:
mention of the ABC-X model
Theory or Key Concept that supports the resources highlighted
Explanation of TWO suggested resources
Possible benefits that a family may experience by utilizing these resources
How this resource can alleviate or mitigate family stress/crisis
Contact information/Location of this resourc
Family Metaphor: (Extra Credit 5 points):
A Family Metaphor is a fun way to, artistically, explain the dynamics of the relationships within a family. You can use your family of origin, family of choice, or family of proximity to apply to this family metaphor. Though this could be used in a therapeutic or counseling setting, this is just a fun way to play with the unique aspects of our family. Please be creative-you can find many examples online and I know AI will generate a long list of them. However, the fun part is you being creative and having fun with this!
The basic format will include:
The noun (person, place, family unit)
The metaphor (the comparison of two unlike things)
The expansion (a little explanation)
Here is my example. It isn’t about the individual members of my family, rather, it is about where I am on my famly life journey.
Like Fallen Leaves from Autumn Trees, I rake my memories, pile them high, and take a big jump in to be surrounded by the beauty of all that was, looking up to the sky, excited for all that soon will be.
