Overview & Instructions:
This is where you will gather sources for your Research Essay. You will need to read these sources and determine how they will be useful for your essay.
Your Working Bibliography must include at least six sources: 5 required sources for essay + 1 extra.
Please read pp. 370-376 in Rules for Writers for a full understanding of how to create an Working Bibliography and keep track of your sources by taking notes.
Please look at the visual example of a Works Cited page on pp. 475-476 of Rules for Writers. Your Working Bibliography should be formatted the same way (with an MLA heading included).
Reminder: The final draft of the Research Essay must reflect the topic presented in the Proposal.
The final draft of the Research Essay must include, at minimum, four of the sources presented in the Working Bibliography.
All sources (other than assigned text) must come from the Pierce library databases.
Failure to follow these guidelines would result in a D or lower for the essay.
For this assignment, you should attempt to find all of the sources that are required for the Research Essay + one extra source.
Here are the required sources for the essay (from the Research Essay assignment page):
A minimum of five sources total (all must come from the Pierce Library databases except assigned text)
2 articles from newspapers and/or magazines (periodicals)
1 article from a scholarly/academic journal (periodical)
1 source of your choosing (text, video, chart, etc. from database).
