Assignment instructions: Module Assessment Brief – Assessment B (Poster Assessment) Title: Critical Evaluation of a Consultancy Proposal for Aldi This assessment builds on your Assessment A coursework.
You will now take on the role of Aldi’s management team and evaluate the consultancy proposal you previously developed.
The purpose of this assessment is to develop your understanding of:
How consulting ideas are assessed in real organisations The strengths and limitations of consultancy recommendations The role of critical thinking in business decision-making You will present your evaluation in a poster format, focusing on clear, concise, and structured communication.
Assessment Task Using your Assessment A proposal, you are required to create an academic poster that evaluates your consultancy recommendation. Your poster should assess:
Overview of Proposal Brief summary of your original idea Consulting Concepts and Fit How your proposal reflects management consulting ideas Whether it aligns with common consulting practices Use of Consulting Methodologies How structured your approach is Whether appropriate methods and skills were applied Evaluation of Practical Application Whether the proposal would work in Aldi’s real business setting Benefits What value the proposal offers Risks and Limitations Challenges or weaknesses What could go wrong Client and Implementation Considerations Impact on Aldi as the client Internal vs external consultants Final Recommendation Should Aldi implement the proposal? Justification of your decision (1000 words) (60% of the module weighting marks) (LOs: 1, 3, 5) Learning outcomes (LO) By completing this assessment, you will have shown and be assessed on LO1, LO3, LO5 five of the learning outcomes:
- Assess the principal academic theories, dominant market practices and popular conceptions of management consulting and management consultants.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the nature of consultancy, clients and the consulting process, and theories associated with facilitating change in organisations.
- Discuss a range of key consulting methodologies, skills, and services, to develop a structured approach to managing consultancy interventions
- Evaluate the practical application of management consulting in various business settings.
