RULES

Acting in our survey level (My
Portfolio Groups, we draw up the following schedule of items for
completing a measured ruler drawn plan showing the relocation final
position. Refer to the attached Appendices to Assignment 1 including
“Retaining Wall Proposals 2024 in Moodle within this assignment.

Heading
1 – Write an introduction with a brief and a summary of the sections
below moving the existing Glenfield Dental Clinic to Unitec (your survey
site). If groups are less than 5 then you shall still follow all the
Conditions 1-8 below– 2.5 Marks
Heading 2 – Show the site
location on a separate plan showing truck and trailer transport from
Glenfield Intermediate School onto Carrington. Draw the route that the
axel turning lines that the truck will take reversing in from the
current driveway onto the Clinic and its Parking area so that the
retaining wall is under or near the end of the stage of the Clinic if
necessary. – 2.5 Marks
Heading 3 – Transfer contours onto a site
plan at scale 1;100 – List Datums (Use the Contour Plan submitted with
your Activity No 2 and see Heading 4 below)

Square
Shape of Contour Grid and scale – North facing plan shown at plan base
is correct. The site dips down as we proceed towards the pond.
The grids are 5 metre by 5 metre grid
This has a datum located down from the brow of the ridge of 110. All others are reduced levels from this.
No
doubt some of you have gone onto Google Earth and like me have cut off a
plan shown measurements, the large dots are in 5 metre lengths and if
you start at the top of the vertical line perpendicular to the longest
line on which is base rests, you will find that the cumulative sum from
this apex visiting each dot is 137.99 metres– 5 Marks

Heading
4 – Add the pile layout to be adopted. (Note; Copy the plan that we
have attached here and prepared for the contours plan(s) into one group
plan as an alternative to out class generated contour line surveys
(which Covid and Weather has determined), showing your group name and
lodge this onto your my-portfolio page which is prepared beside the
assignment upon which you will be marked to acknowledge receipt by your
group of the one site survey plan. This will be checked by the lecturers
over the next 2-3 weeks so try to address this earliest. Draw a
straight line to represent a retaining wall across the cut and fill
parts of the back slope – 5 Marks
Heading 5 – Provide a cross
section through the central retaining wall showing toe in and retained
waling and drain coil and backfill. Identify relevant sections from the
Engineers plans for the Geotechnical site – 5 Marks
Heading 6 –
Transfer the data from the Building Consent onto the plan – For example,
indicate lines of approximate site services for power water stormwater
and foul sewer drainage (towards building 115) – Note on the existing
driveway and the new driveway to the Clinic the types of surfaces
including sub base, base and asphaltic surface area and landscape
planting areas. – 5 Marks

CONDITIONS

Location
of your hand-in shall be your My Portfolio Group noting clearly the
“Assignment 1 for moving the Glenfield Dental Clinic onto the Unitec
2024” site title.
Each Clinic Relocation will be loaded into My Portfolio by an individual group member so please note 2. Above.
The
group’s report above is to clearly show which (if the group is less
than 5), of the above sections 1-6 inclusive of the RULES and Headings
has been individually contributed to by the respective group member.
Note that each section showing is to show that contributor’s name, ID
number and contribution separately on or before the hand in date. If
your name is not on the report coversheet you will not be marked. The
introduction and transport route does not count for only 1 person
writing it. All are to contribute.
For the retaining wall,
Keystone blocks only work for up to 1 metre height. looking at the
contour. However, the height here is greater than 1 Metre and if you
cannot locate the Clinic all upon the top slope them some retaining will
be necessary – hence the retaining wall in timber poles, approx’ 600 mm
diameter and at 1200 mm centres is advised.
Presentation –
Regarding presentation, it is to be in a report format with graphics and
photos. Visits to the Glenfield are recommended but not necessary.
The
introduction, brief and summary will start the Assignment 1 report off
and finish it and will include the required tasks in a logical order
within the brief section including transport plan above in a MS Project
Programme (Available on Campus Desktops).
One of the main
purposes of the geotechnical report is describe the bearing pressure of
the proposed site and to advise on the likely parameter of any
foundations, particularly any risky or weak areas. The Clinic foundation
plan including its Geotechnical Report has been attached above. Make
comments on the Unitec site.
So as scales are shown even with
hand sketches, please assume the details within the geotechnical report
shown for Glenfield Clinic for its removal and placement to be used for
the Unitec site.
