  4. Integrate and synthesise the relevant information of the business environment in which organisations operate.

Assessment details: Individual written report, 100% (2,500 words)

Referencing: Students must use Harvard Referencing throughout their assignments where required. Please follow the Harvard Referencing Handbook for all your assignments at the ULBS.

Submission Method: Turnitin – Your work will be put through Turnitin. All submissions will be electronically checked for plagiarism and the use of AI software.

You have the option to upload your work ahead of the deadline, more than once. ULBS will be reviewing your last submission only. You can only upload one file. For example, if your work contains a word document and power point slides/Excel spreadsheet you will need to copy your slides/spreadsheet into the word document.

Note: Keep in mind that self-plagiarism (when you reuse your own specific wording and ideas from work that you have previously submitted without referencing yourself) is also a form of plagiarism and is not allowed.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

Select a contemporary multinational organisation with which you are familiar. Make sure that you have access to sufficient information that is written in English and available online.

The Board of Directors at your selected multinational organisation have asked you to prepare an Executive Report on the following points:

1.Critically analyse key aspects of the current HRM strategy of your selected organisation by referring to its current HR practices, activities, and policies; secondly, you should discuss how the current HRM strategy of your selected organisation aligns with its overall corporate strategy and organisational goals (LO1).

2. Critically evaluate how one of the following Strategic HRM topics listed below enhances the business performance of your selected organisation (LO2):

  • HR Development;
  • Talent Management;
  • Employee Engagement;
  • Knowledge Management;
  • Business Ethics, CSR, and Sustainability.

3. Synthesise and critically evaluate the theoretical arguments and practical evidence supporting the application of one of the HRM topics listed above to your selected organisation (LO3).

4.Discuss the business environment within which your selected organisation operates and explain how this business environment influences one of the HRM topics listed in question 2 (LO4).

5.Referring to specific examples of your in-class learning experiences, critically evaluate how this module has benefitted your employability.

You should communicate your ideas effectively in writing by using an appropriate structure and writing style, including Harvard Referencing.

You should also refer to academic concepts, theories, and practices in a critical and informed way, with reference to key texts and academic articles, as well as by referring to examples from your selected organisation.

All sources should be correctly acknowledged, and a list of references provided. This list of references is excluded from the word count.
