Task Description: Students are required to write a 1000-word essay using the key concepts learned in 3100AFE Indigenous Australians: It’s Everbody’s Business.

The aim of this essay is to assess students’ ability to understand how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander society (history, knowledges, traditions, and culture) can be applied to their own cultural realities. Students will:

  • Write an essay on how they see a potential “wicked” or “deadly” challenge that could be occurring within the business industry.
  • Outline the background of the challenge and how the “deadly/wicked challenge” relates to the business industry.
  • Discuss how the relationship of the challenge impacts Indigenous individuals, businesses and communities, Make recommendations on how Western ways of dealing with this “deadly/wicked challenge” can be resolved using Indigenous ways of knowing, doing and being.

Criteria & Marking: This Essay will be marked out of 50 marks that will be converted to an overall weighting of 50%. The marking criteria and rubric is attached.
