The Internet of Things (IoT) is a new paradigm in which machines and devices are collaborating with each other to drive innovation. Although the IoT has been a blessing for many organizations, the increase in the frequency of cybersecurity attacks is a cause of concern for many people. Currently, many IoT devices such as patient monitoring systems, logistics, smart grids and environmental monitoring have come up. After the report by Symantec (2020), the IoT devices attack rate was around 5200 attacks per month which clearly represent that around 97% increment has been seen. Most of the attacks, around 78% are being performed through the application of IoT malware attacks and password attacks. The positive trend is that there is an increase in the worldwide IoT security market and IoT security regulation (Lee, 2020). This is reflective of the increase in IoT resilience. However, the gap is that there is little understanding of the benefits of cyber resilience from the perspective of organization managers. Hence, there is a need for new research to further explore the risk and benefits of tools of cyber resilience in the organization.
Purpose of the study
The purpose of the study is to explore the perspective or opinion of managers regarding the risk or benefit of cybersecurity for business organizations. This will be explored using qualitative research design and the study will be conducted with managers from diverse types of organization in different research settings.
