The position of paedophilia in the Australian penal system — 2500-2750 words
this assessment is part 3/3, it asks you to bring together what you have learnt from the first two assignments, and to bring that learning to the question of justice or fairness for the population group you have chosen (paedophiles, paedophilia).  It also asks you to think about
what needs to happen in a practical or policy sense for us to have a sense that things are
fairer for that group.
both part 1 and 2 have been marked with feedback, take feedback into consideration.
You may briefly set out the situation for this group (as Ass 1) and again briefly (perhaps a paragraph), refer to the theoretical approach that will frame the paper (as in Asst 2). There is
no need to go into great detail on either.
A penal system is (or should be?) about the administration of justice. What needs to happen for a fairer Australia to be advanced with respect to this group?
–       Must be analytical, critical, and evaluative
–       The question is sensitive to questions of power.
–       address some of the questions you have raised in the first two assignments.
–    in text citations (Author, year, page), quotes can be used
– each topic sentence, argument, statement should be referenced, follow the below steps
Essay paragraphs
A paragraph is a related group of sentences that develops one main idea. Each paragraph in the body of the essay should contain:
a topic sentence that states the main or controlling idea
supporting sentences to explain and develop the point you’re making
evidence from your reading or an example from the subject area that supports your point
analysis of the implication/significance/impact of the evidence finished off with a critical conclusion you have drawn from the evidence
a concluding sentence that restates your point, analyses the evidence, or acts as a transition to the next paragraph.
I created the following plan, you can change it/ add to it if you like
INTRODUCTION
–       what is the penal system and what is its purpose, how does it address paedophilia?
UNDERSTANDING PAEDOPHILIA AND ITS IMPACTS
–       definition of paedophilia, child sexual abuse offenders, outline the difference.
–       how does paedophilia impact offenders and victims?
–       How does paedophilia impact society?
–    online paedophilia, grooming a child etc
CHALLENGES WITHIN THE PENAL SYSTEM
–       Inadequate resources and training for law enforcement agencies and child services?
–       Limited rehab and treatment programs
–       Societal attitudes affecting and hindering the process of justice, creating misconceptions leading to those that suffer from paedophilia to not seek treatment, dehumanisation, and social isolation (resulting in  acting up on their feels and seeking the intimate love of a child )
–       Paedophiles / child sexual abusers being in prison are dealt by inmates which leads to
more crime. (prison population hate CSA and paedophiles, if the CSA aren’t in protective
custody, they often get stabbed / murdered.
–   technology makes it eaiser for CSA to commit a crime, by grroming and exploiting children
REFORMING THE PENAL SYSTEM
–       Strengthening legal framework
–       Providing LE with adequate training and resources, sharing information across different states etc,
–       Prevention and education, raising awareness from a young age, educating the public.
–       Rehabilitation and reintegration in society
–       improving victim support services
