The purpose of this exercise is to: 1) to expand students’ understanding of redlining and how this government policy was used to promote the discriminatory and racist agenda of special interest groups; 2) to examine the impact of this policy of the housing market; 3) to examine the social and economic impact of this policy on American society.
There are several part to this exercise. You must address all of these in order to get full credit.

Step 5: Write a 3-page paper on the impact of redlining. It should be Times New Roman, 12 point font, 1 inch margins, double spaced.
The following is the rubric:
1) Section 1: Introduction: Discuss redlining and its history in the United States (10 points)
2) Section 2: Discusses the impact of redlining on the development of Los Angeles County (30 points)
3) Section 3: Look at the redlining maps and find where you currently live. Discuss how redlining shaped the social, economic, and housing market of where you currently live over time (30 points)
