This paper is the second part of a behavioral change project. We had to choose a behavior that we want to change (I chose to focus on my eating habits, specifically, my junk food intake. We had to record a frequency log of how many times we engaged in the behavior for 2 weeks (logs 1/31-2/6 and 2/7-2/13). We then had to implement a cognitive behavioral method to help change the chosen behavior. I chose operant conditioning (specifically, positive punishment) For my punishment, every time I ate junk food, I had to take $20 from my checking account and put it in my savings account. We then had to log the behavior for two more weeks while implementing the behavioral method (logs 2/21-2/27 and 2/28-3/5). Please be aware that this paper requires peer-reviewed journals on the chosen behavioral method and proves that is it effective.

Question 1 on the instructions sheet asks to discuss why I you chose this behavior and how it has impacted you, so here is a bit of info on that: I have always struggled with my relationship with food ever since I was young. It was only when I was told that I was at risk for Type II diabetes that I found myself wanting to make a change to better myself. I have been trying to tackle this journey for a couple of years now, and although I have made some progress, I still struggle with my food intake. It’s not how much I’m eating, but what I am eating. Whenever I have a craving for something unhealthy, I usually give in to the craving, which leaves me feeling defeated, and a little ashamed that I couldn’t have more self-control.
