TSM10112 The requirements for the assessment
You are required to write a management report which identifies and evaluates sustainable hospitality managerial issues and challenges of a hospitality organisation known to you.
As a manager, you should suggest a number of recommendations which would benefit the company in terms of its sustainable development.
The report should:
- Identify the causes and effects of a range of managerial issues and challenges relating to sustainability which are related to a hospitality organization known to you.
- Evaluates alternative systems and provides solutions to these problems
- Develop and demonstrate evidence based critical reflection
- Provide a realistic strategic plan for future sustainable development
- Provide a number of recommendations and analysis techniques for future sustainable development
TSM10112 Special instructions
Your report will include:
- A cover sheet with your matriculation number and other key submission details
- An executive summary which gives an overview of the entire contents of the written report (including findings and key conclusions)
- A contents page that shows the structure of your report – please remember to include the page numbers.
- The main body of your report broken down into appropriate headings and sub-headings
- A conclusion that summarises the key arguments, findings and draws the report to a close
- A reference list presented accurately in the APA 7th Edition referencing style
- Any appendices that provide material to illustrate the points within your report.

TSM10112 Assessment Criteria (Marking Guidelines)
Structure (20%) – Introduction, relevance to subject. Signposting; linking & sequencing; Highlights key points. Provides good outline structure of report.
Knowledge/Content (25%) – Evaluates and resolves a range of managerial issues & challenges. Demonstrates the use of primary and/or secondary sources; Applies management theory, problem-solving and academic research skills; Presents a professional strategic plan and a realistic investment appraisal.
Interpretation of Question (20%) – The report makes an interpretation of the question and in relation to this develops a coherent & connected line of argument. The report sticks to the point. Instructions in the question are carried out (e.g., discuss, compare & contrast). Readership and purpose are considered.
Critical Analysis (25%) – Demonstrates understanding and evidence based critical reflection.
Referencing/Presentation (10%) – Acknowledgement of sources, citation conventions, legible, length, clarity, grammar & spelling, etc
