use this weeks reading and:
Bullet-point three (3) main ideas discussed in the reading. For example: According to Simmel, people develop a blasé attitude living in the city because . . . (pg#).
Then, choose one (1) of the main ideas and develop it further.
First Paragraph: Discuss why one of the ideas stood out to you. Personal experience? Connection to another class? Connection to a current event: national or international. Maybe you didn’t quite understand the argument or a particular point that was being made and explain the difficulty.
Second Paragraph: What, or how, does the point you are discussing add to your understanding of community? Here you want to make a connection to the lectures and/or text for the section (even if you’re not quite sure).
The responses should demonstrate two things: 1) that you have read the material (first bullet point), and 2) that you’ve thought about the reading and its applicability to your life and our topic (second bullet point).
