Explain two of the seven principles of Catholic Social Teaching, including their basis in religious
texts and traditions. Discuss how those
principles specifically relate to your service-learning
experience.
You must give examples from your service-learning experience to
illustrate your
explanation.

1-inch margins, double-spaced, and aligned left (with ragged
right)
Include your name and submission date at the top left of the first
page. Refrain from using extended quotations; the answer must be in your own words to
demonstrate that you have command of the
material. Citations should be made parenthetically in the body of
your paper: (Swaner, 196).
This is an essay based on doing community service. The 2
principles of social teaching that I picked are Call to Family,
Community, and Participation: A commitment to resist
individualism, but rather
to grow and achieve in the community
and for the common good (Swaner, 200–1) and Option for the Poor and Vulnerable: A commitment to examine every decision,
especially social policies (not just personal decisions), in terms of
its effects on the life and dignity of the
poor (Swaner, 203–4).
