Several incidents were reported in the trenching area at the construction site, over the last year and on one occasion, a worker fell into the trench as the shoring was not secured and this resulted in a fatality and caused significant equipment/asset damage.The workers are now afraid of working at trenching sites

Routine monthly inspections indicate that the shoring on both sides of the trench was not secured and appropriate signages, indicating the hazards were not provided. Additionally, the body harness of the workers are of poor quality and have not been replaced though the workers have complained about the same.
