Arizona Global Campus Cultural Clothes Reflection and Presentation
BACKGROUND
Your organization is launching a new product that will be marketed to a specific country. It is your responsibility to choose a country, create the product, design the package, and plan a marketing campaign, and include samples of advertising. Remember that the dimensions of culture, i.e. individual or collectivist culture should be felt throughout the advertising, and explain why your product is unique for their cultural demands.
Most of the work can be done online through emails and group discussion chatrooms set up in D2L and Blackboard collaborate.
TASK:
Students are to form 2 – 4 member teams by enrolling into a group using “Groups” tab. You can choose any product. Groups must choose a collectivist country or individualistic country. Make sure you confirm choices with me. You can do this by emailing me your country name, and product.
Once enrolled in a group, students will create a PowerPoint (10 slides maximum, 30 pt. font minimum) highlighting their product and the theme which focuses on the dimensions. While you are not actually giving the presentation the PowerPoint document should be sufficient more a twenty minute presentation. PowerPoint should be visually appealing.
Your sales pitch must focus on the country’s individualistic or collectivist natures and how your product relates to their Dimensions of Culture: Power Distance, Femininity vs. Masculinity, Uncertainty Avoidance, Long-term Orientation, High or Low Context. Along with submission of PowerPoint on due date, each member must give a final report on group experience. This is a 250 word essay which should include the student’s reflection on their contribution to team, each member’s contribution to team and overall teamwork.
PROGRESS UPDATES
Your group is required to submit three ungraded updates throughout the course. They are each submitted as one entire assignment. Choose one person from the group to upload the PowerPoint work as well as the individual summaries.
Update 1 (approximately 250 words per group) Who are your group members? What are their roles in the group? Who will do what? Describe your project Must be uploaded or lose 10% from total
Update 2 (approximately 250 words per group) Provide a detailed list of what each member has accomplished. Please include names and their roles. If there are any issues with the group please include them. Must be uploaded or lose 10% from total assignment.
Update 3
Submit all PowerPoint work to date. Remember to speak about any outstanding group issues. Must be uploaded or lose 10% from total assignment. GRADING CRITERIA A PowerPoint presentation is a must. You need approximately 10 slides per team. Slides should include properly cited research if necessary.
