PART1: Title 9: Offenses Against Public Order and Decency. These are crimes like disorderly conduct or public intoxication offenses that sometimes happen in the heat of the moment, or as a result of tough circumstances. I chose this category because these types of offenses often reflect deeper social challenges, and I’m interested in understanding the people behind the cases, not just the charges. To get a real world perspective, I plan to interview Charles Jones, a prison case manager at our local Federal correctional facility. Mr. Jones works face to face with people serving time for a variety of crimes, including those against public order. He helps them navigate life inside, access support programs, and prepare for life after release. I think his insights will help me see how the system works from the inside and what it’s like.
