Vocational scenario AeroVista International is a large global aviation and travel services organisation with a strong focus on digital transformation, technology and customer experience. The organisation employs professionals across areas such as software development, cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud infrastructure and IT service support.

You are working as a Digital Technology Intern within the organization’s Digital and Technology department, supporting the planning and delivery of a Digital Workplace Professional Skills Programme for newly recruited technology graduates and interns. The programme aims to develop the participants’ professional and workplace skills, including effective communication, teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, digital workplace practices, secure working practices and continuing professional development (CPD).

You will contribute to the design and delivery of a professional development session and work with colleagues to coordinate the programme. You will also be expected to respond appropriately to problems that may arise, demonstrate effective teamwork and communication, and reflect on your own contribution and professional development.

Following the programme, you will review its effectiveness, consider feedback and evaluate how the experience has contributed to your own professional skills and future development.

Assignment activity and guidance You are required to contribute to the planning and delivery of a Digital Workplace Professional Skills Programme within the organisation. As an intern, you should demonstrate effective design and delivery of a training session for AeroVista’s new technology graduates and interns, using different communication styles and formats. You should demonstrate effective time management skills in planning the Professional skills programme and design a professional schedule for the programme day, including contingencies like speaker absent or a technical failure and justifying the time given to each session. Additionally , you should evaluate how effectively you used interpersonal skills in designing and delivering your session to AeroVista’s new graduates, using audience and observer feedback.

During the planning and delivery of the programme, you should demonstrate the use of different problem-solving techniques and demonstrate how critical reasoning and thinking has been applied to address problems and achieve the intended outcomes. You should research different problem-solving techniques that could be used in designing and delivering the AeroVista programme. Justify the range of methodologies you used to plan and run the programme compared with alternatives and evaluate the overall success of the programme, in achieving its intended goal, considering how critical reasoning and thinking were applied to accomplish the desired outcome.

You should discuss the importance of team dynamics in the success or failure of the AeroVista programme team, with examples from formal and informal settings. Show evidence that you have worked effectively within the team to achieve the defined goal of delivering a training programme and analyze the dynamics of your programme team: the role members played and how effectively they achieved the shared goal of delivering the  programme. Additionally, you should critically evaluate your own role and contributions to the design and delivery of the training program in relation to the tasks mentioned above.

You should discuss the importance of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for a technology intern at AeroVista and its contribution to your own learning and motivation. You should review relevant motivational theories and the impact they could have on the performance of AeroVista’s technology staff, produce a personal development plan for your career, based on a skills audit, outlining responsibilities, performance objectives and required skills and justify the role of CPD and your development plan in building your motivation as a member of AeroVista’s Digital and Technology department. Finally, you should evaluate a range of evidence criteria AeroVista could use to measure effective CPD.

Your work should be supported by relevant research, evidence and appropriate academic referencing, with clear links to the learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
