Assignment task:
You are a Strategy Consultant tasked with advising a budding entrepreneur who is successful in local business to expand their business internationally by identifying, evaluating, and implementing innovative international business opportunities.
You are required to write an individual report of 3000 words (100%) to identify, generate, and screen potential international opportunities for innovative business ventures in your chosen business that align with current international market demands and trends.
Additionally, you are expected to create value propositions and business models to attract funding and partnerships for the business’s international expansion while ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
Your report MUST include the following tasks below:
- Choose one business from any industry (e.g. retail, hospitality, manufacturing, real estate) that aims to expand its operations from local to international markets, and briefly analyse the global market demands and trends relevant to their chosen international market.
- Assess the potential of the chosen international market by identifying and screening opportunities using different approaches (e.g., trend observation, identification of market gaps) and utilising ‘data’ obtained from relevant sources.
- Once potential opportunities are identified, create a value proposition for the chosen business and identify innovative business models aimed at attracting market demand through funding and partnerships, ultimately achieving sustainable growth and profitability.
- Critically assess different innovation concepts (e.g., open innovation disruptive innovation). Propose the most appropriate concept for the business and justify its importance in maintaining a competitive advantage.
- Critically evaluate the role of entrepreneurship in wealth creation within the international marketplace.
